Descendance/Naroo began working in films as early as 1996 when they starred in Australia’s first full-length laser movie “Reef Dreaming”, which had a season at Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour Sydney for over three years.
A documentary by the Discovery Channel titled “Atlas Australia” screened in a record breaking 170 countries from 2006-2010 which featured Descendance supplying all the indigenous content and locations for the shoot, the documentary was narrated by Russell Crowe.
With the birth of indigenous TV network NITV in 2008, Descendance is now producing its own content and receiving regular broadcast time, with no less than six documentaries running in high rotation, such as “The Africa-Baltic’s Tour 2007”,“
The Yaarnz Program”, and Palm Island documentary, these productions were produced in association with Warwick Moss, other featured programs include Yeyekerte by Caama productions, The NAIDOC Ball by NRS in Canberra, and The Deadlys Aboriginal Awards Vibe Australia.
The most ambitious project to date is a Hollywood feature film being produced in association with Alchemy Films simply titled Descendance, the original script written by Mark Fitzpatrick and conceptualised by Jose Calarco, the theme uncovers some of the amazing true life stories behind the struggles and success of Descendance.

Descendance have been able to acquire extraordinary International media coverage in recent years, having toured over forty countries and over one hundred cities, invaluable coverage in both the printed and electronic media has been attained, This has helped to promote Australia and educate foreign people into the culture of indigenous Australia.
