Nicole Willis

Nicole Willis is a descendant from two Aboriginal tribes of far North Queensland in Australia, The Yidinji & Kandu; these tribes are situated in Yarrabah Mission and Lockhart River area. Nicole is the daughter the late great song woman Imelda Willis who along with World music entrepreneur Jose Calarco helped launch the dance company in 1999. Today Nicole assumes her mothers mantle as one of the cultural heads of the Aboriginal section of the company. Nicole grew up in a culturally strong family and begun performing from the age of 7; she has since performed her culture throughout Australia and around the world, including a management stint for two years with Descendance in Alice Springs.

Nicole has plans to complete Aboriginal Woman’s business and lore, she is also assisting Descendance meeting all the appropriate Cultural Protocols.
